Introduction: DF12 diesel locomotives are applicable to shunting and transfer operations of 5000t freight trains for large marshalling stations and industrial and mining enterprises within the railway network and also applicable to drawing trunk-line freight trains. To meet the shunting requirements, the locomotive body is of outside corridor shunting type and equipped with microcomputer control device. It has improved bogie structure, cab working conditions and shunting performance. Characterized by high power, superior performance, good applicability, high reliability, easy operation and maintenance and low lost, the locomotive is the ideal heavy-type shunting locomotive for railway heavy-load transportation. With the diesel model of 16V240ZJB and rated power of 2430kW, it is the shunting locomotive with the highest power in China.
